After spending over a month island hopping between some of Greece’s most fabulous islands, we decided that our last destination would be to Meteora Kalambaka, smack bang in the center of Greece. We didn’t really know much about the destination until we spoke to some fellow travelers we met in Croatia, they showed us some of their photos and absolutely raved about its beauty – they weren’t wrong. Seeing it in through our own eyes was an amazing experience, and was completely worth a four-hour train journey from Athens.
After researching a little more, it was apparent that we had to check it out, not only for the breathtaking landscape but to appreciate the engineering marvel of the monasteries being built in such challenging locations.
